About this lesson

Developed by Christian Kelley with his high school students at Chelsea Opportunity Academy in mind, this lesson plan invites students to choose a full-length oral history interview from the Jewish Neighborhood Voices Collection on the Digital Library and Archives. 

Students compare and analyze interviews from first- or second-generation Jewish American narrators to understand the diverse experiences and challenges faced during migration in the early 20th century, and the stories their descendants can share about these experiences.
