Flyer for the Jewish Tuberculosis Sanatorium of New England

Flyer for the Jewish Tuberculosis Sanatorium of New England, 1939.

Digitized Item.

Chartered in 1927, the sanatorium relied largely on donations to provide care and medical isolation for those suffering from tuberculosis. It emphasized their dedication to creating a “friendly, sympathetic” space for those “who require an Orthodox Jewish atmosphere as their chance for survival.”  While promoting a Jewish environment and serving kosher food, the sanatorium remained non-sectarian and open to all. https://digital.americanancestors.org/digital/collection/p15869coll2/id/20356/rec/1
