The Hebrew Free Loan Association (HFLA) was formed circa 1935 in Pittsfield, Massachusetts to offer interest-free loans to dues-paying members of the organization in need of temporary financial relief.

Scope and Content Note
The records of the Hebrew Free Loan Association of Pittsfield, Massachusetts consist of two bound ledgers. One contains minutes from meetings of the officers held between 1944 and 1964, including a list of rules and by-laws put forward by a committee formed to develop the same. The other ledger contains a list of account holders and their transactions between 1949 and 1970.
The collection is arranged into a a single series as follows:
